Matt is a founder of Mechanica Industries and has over 10 years experience in the mining industry with Caterpillar, exclusively related to physical asset management of mobile mining plant. He has held various positions with equipment manufacturers and mining contractors in listed and private companies. Matt also has experience in the automotive industry with GM-Holden, and Air International, a Tier 1 global automotive supplier.

Matt holds a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Master of Maintenance and Reliability Engineering, Certificates IV in Frontline Management and Workplace Training and Assessment. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer, Member of the Institution of Engineers Australia, Risk Engineering Society, Society of Automotive Engineers (Australasia), Mining Electrical and Mining Mechanical Engineering Society. He is listed on the National Professional Engineers Register (NPER) and holds a certificate of competence as an open cut mine mechanical engineer in New South Wales.
